Suggested improvement: negotiating game parameters

I don't know if this has been suggested before but here's my idea.

Currently when receiving a challenge to an online chess game player is given two alternatives: to accept or decline. I would like to see a third alternative: suggest a game with different parameters.

I know I could just decline the challenge and post my own with different parameters but having the option more easily accessible is just one of these little things that would make an already great site even better.

Interesting.

The negotiation could take longer than the game itself. (To resolve this, the 3-fold repetition and 50-move rules should apply.)

I think it's likely that one of the parties resigns the negotiation long before the 50-move rule kicks in.

No, you should never resign from game negotiations!

Should you ever offer to withdraw?

No, negotiate to the death!

...or, at least, until you forget what you were talking about.
