The cheating on this site is ridiculously out of hand!!
Are you a serious? What do have stock in this site? You would obviously have to be blind, or just stupid to believe it doesnt happen. I dont care what a person is rated, it HAPPENS. Mainly because people are TRYING to get a higher rating. You think is a coincedence to play a 5 or 10 min game, and NOTHING seems to happen until the person has no way to win, then connection interruption?
Its not an assuption because you can still play games in other tabs, so if it was an internet issue, ALL games would be intterupted correct? And NO they wouldnt beat 3000 rated players (if players even go that high), because they wouldnt PLAY the lower rated players who cheat anyway.

If they were able to cheat to disconnect their opponent they would be winning so why would they stay low rated?
I have to agree with the others, I would guess it's a connection, not a cheating issue.

Haha, very funny. If you seriously believe that your opponent can affect your connection to the chess.com server you should go study internet (and general client-server) communication a bit. If people could do that they would most definitely NOT be going after your chess.com rating.

My connection gets interrupted often, and I've lost many won games because of it, but that is from my computer lagging, my ISP glitching, or my Windows downloading updates.
I dont know whats more ridiculous, the fact that people pretend it doesnt go on, or the people who do it. First of all i had a rating in bullet around 1475 at one point, and it WOULD be even higher if I didnt lose games to connection interrupted. Im trying to provide feedback so the site can improve, yet people want to pretend it doesnt happen. Fine be silly.
Its very different from an opponent sitting there and not moving, because IM the one in the winning position( time wise). After "connection interruption" more time appears on my opponents clock, and mine decreases, thus making me lose on time.
They would be rated higher youre right, except you forgot one variable, cheaters run into other cheaters! Its no way it should be a connection issue if we both have green bars. Doesnt that represent connection strength? (rolls eyes)

I find it amazing that I've never had this happen to me in chess.com chess. And I am sure it isn't rating related as my son (who is 9) is rated around the same as you (about 100 points higher standard, but was 100 points lower than you 9 months ago). I do not understand how some people attract these cheaters and others do not.
Perhaps we use different tubes on the internets.

I have had regularly the idea that I was playing on a remote server from my internet connection. There was a clear difference between the time my opponents needed to make a move and the time my moves needed to become executed. An immediate response took me already several seconds. I have stopped playing Live Chess once for that reason.
No way that I thought that my opponent was the culprit. The game has to be played on one server and when that server is at the west coast of the United States, then will it be harder for me to win and easier to lose on time.
Im not going to run it in the ground but why can i play multi games in other tabs, if it was a connection issue wouldnt that affect ALL games?

What happens when a time cheater runs into another time cheater? Does the game last 5 seconds, or 100 hours?
Why does it not happen to me though? Just luck? Can't just be because my connection is more stable than yours?
There is such a thing as lag correction BTW, perhaps you experience that.
EDIT: Maybe it's because I'm not playing bullet too, but I doubt it.

You have a lot to learn about internet latency.
I dropped over 100 points the other day from multiple lag spikes. It happens. It has nothing to do the the opponent, who is sitting there wondering why you aren't moving. It's all on your end.

Stop playing bullet if your internet connection is not stable. It will most definitely drive you bonkers.

You're running simuls in bullet games?
So this LAG that you speak of, why does it always happen (mysteriously) when when Im winning. Why have I never experienced it when im losing, or only experienced it when my opponent is losing on time? Can you please answer that? You cant.

OP: This is most likely your problem. On your end it looks as if everyting is working perfectly, but your computer (or device) is not actually communicating with the server. Once it starts communicating again, the server tells your computer that it was your move 10 seconds ago, and therefore your time is decreased by 10 seconds and your opponent's time goes up.
First of all, It makes you not want to even be competitive. I dont even play my best chess, because I know every time Ive basically won postionally or materially, someone will just freeze with "Connection interrupted" and I'll have no time on the clock. Its definitely not my internet connection because you can still play other games in tab.
I cant understand are people that pressed for ratings? I play chess to get better, and how can a person get better by cheating. Its just insane.
