Honestly...who cares, and why should it matter? It pumps up the membership numbers, and means more paying members. Capitalism baby!
I propose we replace it with a ban on using all caps in thread titles.
It matters if members as Godfother pump up their own rating playing always with the same 5 patzers that have a 90+ games losing streak against him. Isn't that peculiar? The whole rating system here loses reliability. He has a 2200+ ELO against a 1300 ELO average opponent.
Why even bother with the rule, if you can't implement it.

Exactly... I would venture to say.. most of that 11 million are inactive accounts. muliple accounts etc. Saying there are "11 million members just looks better"

Yeah, this is not correct, sometimes someone can get his account closed onky because the staff THINK that this person has another account, but they certainly need proves!

And that shouldnt matter either. He is gaining nothing by doing that. Its just another form of cheating, which is nothing new here. You dont play that type of person and move on. I know it wont be implemented, but chess.com should label members based on what they do.
I know...how horrible of me wanting to label people in our modern PC/everything offends me world. But everyone should get a grade of some sort.

One our most offensive trolls seems to have at least one sock account. I'll not name and shame, because I think everybody knows who I mean here.
