Threads locked down on the personal whims of a moderator

I am writing this after having witnessed once again another thread locked down by the personal whims of a forum moderator.  Let me detail his worst excesses.

He firstly locked down a thread on this basis here,

I believe this is an appropriate note to declare this thread over, so I am now locking it.

As you can readily discern it was arbitrarily locked down on a personal whim.  When challenged on this by another user he made the spurious claim,

I locked the flame war thread because of the claims that @robbie_1969 was making

Claims that he was either unwilling or unable to address except by way of inventing his own fabricated narrative,  When someone suggested that this was quite ludicrous to do such a thing and started a thread looking at the issue he had the audacity to lock that down as well once again on a personal whim

I locked the thread because you were refusing to accept plain evidence

This is complete and utter nonsense as he presented NO EVIDENCE other than a narrative that he invented based on an alleged inference.  When someone else noticed that he HAD NOT addressed any of the concerns being unable to assail the logic he locked the thread down on this flimsy pretext.

This person is notorious for locking threads down on a personal whim, I and others have issued tickets and complained about his arbitrary approach on numerous occasions and yet he remains at large.

FOR THE LOVED OF GOODNESS WILL YOU PLEASE TRAIN THIS MODERATOR (https://www.chess.com/member/david) HE IS MAKING THE LIFE OF THE CONTRIBUTORS A MISERY BY HIS HEAVY HANDED ARBITRARY APPROACH LOCKING DOWN THREADS ON NOTHING MORE THAN A PERSONAL WHIM.

Please log any complaints about moderation to @jdcannon, the Staff member leading the moderation team. As mentioned repeatedly, posting about it in the forums is not the correct procedure. I am now locking this thread too.

I am also giving you the same warning that I gave @EndgameStudy in that other thread: if you create yet another forum thread complaining about the locking of forum threads instead of following the process, that will be treated as the equivalent of spamming the forums and ignoring a moderator, and your account will be temporarily muted.

I am somewhat surprised that you didn't think that warning applied to you as well, but I am giving you the benefit of the doubt and am now making this an explicit warning.

Thanks for being a Chess.com member!

David, moderator
