I vote for 10|0, 5|2 and 25|5.
But I would prefer 25|10 over 25|5 because 25|10 is very common OTB.
And I agree with most people here: we need longer time controls. 25|5 is not long enough. Please add 30|30, 45|45 and 90|30.
I really like 30/0. How about 30/5?
Or how about 45/5, and 90/0.
Some people - actually a lot of people, like slow chess !!
I wonder why 45/45 and 90/30 isn't there? I don't mind doing it custom but these seem very useful time controls.
I'd also vote for keeping the 5|2 and adding 3|2. I even think it would be cool to have 10|1 instead of 10|0, not because we necessarily need more time, but it is getting so old to play people who play lost positions on time. :)
Is it possible to add the time stamps to the game archives/PGNs (like on ICC and ChessCube when you flip through games you can see how much time was left at each move--minor issue of course but nice to see)
Please make sure to include slower time controls for those who complain to me that Chess.com does not support them: 45 45 is a must, 60 15 and 90 30 are also popular. Thanks!
I'd like to see more long time controls, like 30/30, 45/5, and 45/45. There are many player like me, who would like to play slow games but are having hard time finding opponents because these options are not present in the menu.
To address the concerns that some members may not realize the time commitment of long games, we could make clear the estimated total time (e.g., put 150 min after 45/45) in the menu.
I also agree with the needs for time stamp in the PGN file.
I realize that (for whatever technical reason) you have to limit the standard choices to 8 and that you have to keep your largest bloc of members happy, meaning you have to cater to the shorter time controls. However, if Chess.com is truly committed to chess improvement, adding long time controls (in the neighborhood of 30/30, 45/45, 60/5, 90/30, etc.) is a must. One option could be a “short time control dropdown” and a “long time control dropdown,” but there are drawbacks.
An option I like even more, would be the option of custom selecting “time ranges,” much like the rating range that is now available. The reason being, if I'm looking for a long game, I don’t always care if its 45/5, 45/15, 45/30, 45/45, 60/5, 60/10, 60/15, 60/17, 60/19, . . . 90/15, 90/30, 120/5. . . I just want a long game. If I put out a challenge at 45/45 and someone else has one out at a slightly different time control, we won’t be matched (if we’re both in live chess on pc, we can see other challenges, but not so in the iPad ap). If I could set my range at 60-120min or 45-“no limit” (factoring in time +increment with whatever formula you use), I would be paired with anyone sending a challenge within that range. Because there are far fewer players seeking long time control games at any given time, this flexibility would make it even easier to find long games than it would be if we had a long-time-control choice or two on a menu. Just my 2 cents.

There are two changes that I think are very important to make. First of all, I think some sort of slow chess setting should be included in the default options: 30/30, 45/45, or 90/30 would be great. Much more important, though, would be the addition of timestamps to PGNs. It is impossible to properly review and analyze a slow chess game without knowing how much time was spent on every move.
