Two suggestions

This site is great!  There are just a couple of things I think could be improved....

1 - When promoting a pawn, pressing enter would be a good way to promote to a queen.  I know I can change settings to 'auto-queen', but that is not perfect either.  At the moment, if one presses enter when confronted with the promotion-selector, the game is resigned?!?!?!

2 - I think having the algebraic coordinates next to the board, rather than on the board, looks better.

That could be annoying!

This happened in LiveChess evidently (since you haven't played any Turn-based chess games).

Have you reported the problem directly to chess.com?

I thought this was the correct place to let them know.  After playing some more games, it seems that the game is only resigned if you resigned a previous game.  i.e. if the last place you clicked on was the 'Resign' button, then this remains highlighted, and pressing enter at any time (even with the piece-select window up) causes the button to be 'pressed' again.

You're right. Bugs should get reported directly - but if it is an interface refinement, then this is the place for that discussion.

There is a confirmation pop-up when resigning, but if you weren't expecting to resign in the first place, you probably weren't ready for that pop-up either.

Actually I have never seen a confirmation pop-up, and I don't see it as an option in my settings either!  Is there a way to switch that on?

 It looks like this.

All actions such as resigning and offering draws require confirmation, and this is popped-up automatically in all cases, AFAIK.

I definitely don't get that window here!!!  Perhaps Firefox is blocking it somehow, but then I would see a warning about pop-ups being blocked I think.  I'll have to look into that!

I get it when using Firefox. It does seem like a local settings issue.

1. Does hovering over someone's name in a forum posting bring up the mouse over?

2. When you edit a forum posting, do the INSERT POSITION OR GAME and the INSERT/EDIT IMAGE buttons work?

I don't get the warning for resignation, it is very annoying, once i pressed resign instead of draw offer (under time pressure) and lost. :(

Which browser are you using? Do you get the same effect with other browsers (Chrome, IE, Firefox, Safari)?

1. Hovering over a name here does bring up a little window with lots of options etc.

I'm using Firefox 3.5.7 - I haven't tried any other browsers yet.

EDIT: 2.
