I suppose the question is, what is the USP of Chess.com? As in, what are the benfits of a paid membership that other sites cannot match? Certainly if you can access unlimited puzzle rush and tactics on other sites then it's neither of those - so there's not really that much point having them behind a paywall. Personally I think the lessons etc are high quality and that this is the benefit rather than access to something which many other sites offer for free.

If you don't pay for things, how are they going to cope with the increasing costs of hosting servers? Anyways, they can do what they want because it's their site and if you don't like it, you can leave.
