On my Android tablet (Nexus 7) I just click the piece I want to move and then the square I want to move it to. It seems odd it would behave any differently on other android devices.
Your android application sucks!

Wow, just because you can't figure out how to use the software doesn't give you the right to bash it. I run the app on both my droids and it is click and pick on both of them. Untwist your panties and learn your machine.

I am writing this post in anger because I just lost a game playing on my smartphone. The moves are ridiculous to play! Look at Chess Free app for Android. You first click on a piece you want to move, and then you move it by picking what square you want it on!
Not dragging it!! I made like 2 or 3 mistakes because I couldn't place my piece on a proper place, due to this stupid dragging!
I uninstalled your app, and I am leaving a bad review on google apps...
