I think there should be an option to choose which rating (i.e. Standard, Blitz, 960, etc.) is displayed when you mouse hover over a person's username here in the forums (which would be set by that person via their profile preferances). So my rating in Chess960 is 1346... so what? I played one game. I'd rather be able to choose to display my Live Chess - Standard Rating which has 111 games than Chess960 which has only 1 game and does not reflect the games I regularly play. And this suggestion is coming from a guy with a DISMAL Live Chess rating!

The site will automatically use your highest rating out of all the ratings you have. I think its fine. If you want to know more about a player click on their name and check out their profile, it will take you all of 10 seconds.

The whole idea is to not have to do that. A person should be able to choose what rating they prefer to be displayed when you hover your mouse over their name.

I have a "real" rating more than 1000 points higher than my main chess.com rating. Do you propose to use other ratings in addition to chess.com ratings?

I smell bacon.

No, I propose to allow the user to choose between "Live Standard, Blitz, 960, etc" --- So that when you mouse hover over their name here on the forum, it would reflect the game style that they A) Most play or B) Want to be displayed. I'd rather my Standard rating showed than 960 since it's 111 games to 1 game of 960.

I agree with the idea, makes sense and would be easy to implement.

Most titled or rated players are way ahead of you. When you go into their home-page they have their USFC or FIDE rating posted in their bio section for all to see. Again, it is a matter of a simple click.

probably i should do that, now if i could just remember my exact rating.

Avatar of ponz111

I just checked. In the profile it only gives you the choice of over the board rating and my USCF rating is only 2188 but my correspondence rating 350 points higher.

Avatar of DjonniDerevnja

I agree with Nomadicnight. My correspondencerating is to high, because i won my all three games. I won them on time, the other player forgot. In three days!

My blitzrating has more substans, almost 500 games.

maybe you should just get better at chess

Perhaps you should keep your not-so-smart mouth shut unless you have something of value to contribute to the topic at hand, troll.

I wasn't talking about ratings outside of chess.com. I'm talking about strictly the Live Chess, Blitz, Bullet, Correspondence, etc. ratings that CHESS.COM USES. Damn, is it really that hard to understand, especially when I explain it THREE TIMES???!!

And I smell a multi-account. Whats-a-matter "you-know-who", did you get your main account banned from the forums? Might explain the lack of contact from a certain troll who suddenly went silent...

I agree with the idea.

I agree with this idea too. Same with when you hover over a user's name in the chat of Live Chess or in the game logs of Live Chess. I think it's automatically set to blitz there for some reason.

No. It's automatically set to your highest rating. When I hover my cursor over your username I see your online rating.

That's how it is here in the forums. Go to Live Chess and click on the games tab. Then click on anyone's name playing a game. Or click on someone's name in the chatroom box. Or click on your own name up at the top of Live Chess. They are all the blitz rating.

This idea is good for those who play primarily on chess.com. Not necessarily so good for those who play their games elsewhere.
