Accidental tournament withdrawal?

Twice I've been in tournaments where I seem to have accidentally withdrawn myself from the competition.  It seems to correlate with clicking the X to close up the room for a game that is completed - suddenly I'm not in the tournament any more.  Is it possible to reconnect?  Is there a way to avoid finding myself on the outside of a tournament that I would have rather stayed in?

I think I found a connection that has revealed a different bug.

Sometimes I'm playing a Live tournament, and I take advantage of that free 10 seconds to make the first move as white before the clocks start.  Sometimes that goes wrong for me, and when the clock starts, my starting move is reset, my opponent's clock starts counting down, and I can't get my first move on the board.  After a few minutes, I get a message that *I've* abandoned the game.  Apparently 'abandoning' one game boots you from the tourney.

So I don't take the free move anymore.  I wait until I see my clock start counting down, and then make my first move.
