Invalidate and repeat game

One player has accidentally resigned a game in a tournament game (before any piece was moved).
As organizer of the tournament, can I invalidate the game and have it restart?

Accidently? May I know how it happened? Is it online tournament or real life? Only when I know how this happened, I can give suggestions

It is an unrated tournament I set up with 4 other friends here on chess.com

The previous game between the same two players ended with mate on board; the losing player resigned the new game assuming he was still on the previous game, without noticing the fresh board position.
