They are just cheating themselves and sooner or later once they play enough games they will be found out. Keep playing, it will make you a better player over time. I do not fret over my rating it is what it is.

I am new to this site (and mostly internet chess as I still believe that chess should be played in coffee shops with friends). But I just played my first tournament and got smoked in the last round. So I loaded it into Fritz to figure out how I should have done better. In 37 moves, my opponent made Fritz's first choice 33 times and Fritz's 2nd choice twice (average difference from best = 0.06). He made two mooves way down Fritz's list in the opening but each move was assessed as .1 or so worse than optimal.
I've got an old version of Fritz on a so-so computer so it proably plays as well as um Boris Spassky in his prime. Not fair.
Here's the thing - Fritz and all reasonable computer programs are better than me. Chessmaster 4000 on ancient hardware might be better than me. If someone wants to beat me using their program, I would prefer that they just come out and tell me and I won't waste any time playing. I surely don't care about losing a game, but wasting my time playing against your computer is just nonsense.
