Organizing online tournaments - rating button does not work well

I received a message from support. The y say that it is not possible to organise a Thematic Tournament with rating

I think that this article is about a single match and not about a thematic tournament. Am i wrong?

Right, But a lot of people like to play a Thematic Tournament with a special opening. And that was always possible, but not anymore

Maybe they think that it is a bug when you organise a thematic touyrnament with rating ?

Yes the bug will be addressed in the next couple of days, we cannot realistically allow Custom position Rated games currently. As well as technical implications, it's hard to gauge which position we could allow, if we select them, since the rating system relies on equal odds for both players.

I don't believe it is a bug but a planned change. I imagine it was mostly to stop rating changes from positions that are completely winning or only can end by timeouts for example.

It also affects positions more standard positions such as book openings.

Martin, Your idea is clear and there is logic here.
A differentiated approach to this issue is needed here.
For example, ridiculous positions like 10 queens versus 10 knights should be unrated.
But, as for standard positions (up to the 5th or 6th move in the position), the chances are equalized in any case!!
