Why would anyone want to be a sincere Confederate? The CSA stood for slavery and don't give me any of that state's rights BS, the South was violently opposed to the rights of non-slaveholders as well as the rights of any new states to oppose slavery and the rights of slaves of course.

Will minorities be allowed to join this group?

You dont understand Lee and Jackson then do you...Sad state o' affairs

Southernsoldier, since you are such a bastion of truth and knowledge why don't do you explain your understanding of Lee and Jackson. I'd love to hear your fanciful interpretation. Maybe that can help get the thread locked faster

I guess kid that as of one hundred and fifty years on you are still outnumbered. Anyway good luck with the group.

The North isn't so morally pure, the Northern powers wanted an end to slavery to get cheap labor for their factories and then offered the ex-slaves segregation and ghettos.

Avatar of eddiewsox

Thr only reason that the North didn't have slavery in the first place is because of the climate and the types of crops being grown. The North lent itself to small family-run farms and not the big manual labor-intensive cotton plantations of the South.

Just goes to show that those indusrialists sure are industrious.  Hey! without them, we couldn't chat.  That should make up for all the terrible working conditions that our forefathers suffered through in order to allow us to play chess at work, right?

Bloody capitalists!

Who is more guilty for slavery , the buyers or the sellers ?  Surprised

If someone wanted to create a group called Ninetenth Century Northern Capatalist Exploiters of the Masses, or Robber Barrons United, might you also find people objecting? Probably not. There isn't a specific, well defined group who would be offended by it - a group who was the object of systematic oppression for many years after the Civil War.

The Civil War was unimaginable carnage. To celebrate one side's Quixotic efforts to dissolve the union is - to me - lie celebrating one half of a fatal car accident. Black members might find it offensive. As far as I'm concerned, you can fly the Stars 'n Bars where the sun don't shine.

And you think many millions dont find the stars and stripes offensive ?  Japanese maybe ?  Germans ?  American Indians ?  How long did slavery exist in the US under the stars and stripes ? You dont find it the least bit strange that the North didnt free its own slaves during the war ? You see nothing wrong with this picture ?
