Well, that's even weirder. The green arrows aren't there.

This is what I see @ Your Tournament Profile :
Status: | Eliminated |
Record: | 4W / 2L / 0D |
Points: | 4 |
Tie Break: | 0 |
Final Round: | 3 |
I am afraid, if the Staff won´t recover/fix Your status, You´ll be out.
But that´s only my humble guess.
Inconsistencies/bugs in tournament layouts have ocurred since closed a/c (either for cheating or self-closure) stopped being recorded in tournament stats a month or so ago.
For ezample here:
Tournament Stats | |||
---|---|---|---|
Starting Players: | 64 | Completed Games: | 110 (tournament is 79% complete) |
Eliminated Round 1: | 29 (45% of field) | Games in Round 1: | 64 |
Eliminated Round 2: | 13 (20% of field) | Games in Round 2: | 32 |
Eliminated Round 3: | 7 (10% of field) | Games in Round 3: | 20 (70% completed) |
Players Withdrawn: | 2 (3%) | # Timeouts: | 15 (13%) |
Remaining Players: | 15 (23%) | Remaining Games: | 6 (current round |
Average Rating: | 1662 | Biggest Upset: | 1259 defeats 1763 |
A starting line-up of 64 is mentioned yet only 59 are accounted for. Therefore 5 a/c were closed.
Sollevy10's a/c was indeed closed voluntarily & after he had eliminated yourself Nikre. You should not be shown as advancing (green-arrows) this is displaying wrongly in the current set-up.
As are the other stats. Clicking on ''remaining-players 15 '' above will not show you 15-players? Clicking on ''starting-players 64'' does not show you 64-players? It Is VERY confusing??
as a former lawyer I'd say you both move on [as Mike said]. to be precise, your opponent moved on, but he withdrawned [closed account] so the second best [you] advances anyway. that's the algorithm, at least one player from the gorup must advance, no matter what.
PS: It's quite similar to pretenders system in chess world championship.
the computer may have made an error, in my tournament an entire group made it through although only one should've, but it showed no arrows so this could be different. you could submit a ticket http://support.chess.com/Tickets/Submit/RenderForm
can someone explain these to me
1) I have been kicked out in a knockout tournamnet by loosing both games, next round has not started yet. however, I noticed my opponent's account is closed and there are green arrows and highlight for both of us. (it was only for him before his account closed), but in the player list my name is marked as 'eliminated' . i can't find his name in the player list.
in this case, am i OUT or IN to the next round?
2) I found that i can't leave comments on the eliminated tournament homepage, the editing panel is missing. does it set like that for the eliminated players? I tested my other ongoing tournaments, seems evrything is fine.
thanks, nikre.
