The site started the Arena style tourneys and decreased the Swiss events. There are actually more now than when the Arena events first started.
What happend with swiss tournements?

There are more Swiss now than there were right after arena events were added. Almost all the Swiss events were replaced. I can go back and find a few posts about it from the time.

There's always Swiss anytime I check. Everything from bullet to 30 minute quads. I just wish they didn't allow brand new accounts to play in them. The rapid tournaments are a complete joke because of new accounts. There should at least be rapid tournaments for premium members only.
I simply thought that it was because people have school...
I definately prefer swiss...

I was assured the new site would be better, well that`s just not the case so either return the swiss tournaments or expect a exdos of players

Most of the Swiss events were removed in August after v3 had been the default site for around 9 months.

They quickly saw the feedback and added back some of the Swiss events, though not as many as in the past.

The site listens to feedback and may still tweak the balance some but if they haven't already seen an exodus of players due to the change, it is unlikely they will. 
Why are there so little Swiss tournements??
