I like 3 minute.
What is youre favorite time control ?
3 0 are fun, 90 30's however are the best way to improve. I like having lots of time, believe me, 90 30's seem really short sometimes. When you have 20 minutes left you realize how little time you actually have, and in an equel position, it's really tough.
OMG "youre" isn't even a word (it would be a contraction for "you are", but that isn't even the right phrase here), "your" would be correct here.
3+2 is my favourite blitz time and 90+30 is my favourite overall. As CP said, 90+30 isn't much time once you get into the game, but it provides more time than these stupid rapid/quick controls.

rapid/blitz/bullet are getting too popular.  Classical is the only "real chess" though of course speed chess has its place it is  not suppose to replace long chess. 90 30 is a decent time in which to play your game, i don't play longer because you can't find many people willing to play longer, and 90 30 is well established as a tournament time control. Kentucky_boy, the idea is that you can write down your moves even in desparate time trouble.

hmmm I will check OMG in the dictionary tooÂ
( Just kiding ) But yeah you are right about the time controls.
it's spelled standard. Yeah blitz is fun, but Standard is the best.Â
Yeah its obviousily better for youre improvment.
Played my first OTB tournament last week which was 1h50m+10s/Game. Based on that I'd say I'd probably enjoy something a little too long even more, maybe 90-120/40, 45-60/20 and then 15-30+30s/game.Â
Blitz!!! THought I like standard better because there isn't but blunders...wait that didn't make sense...
Right...
For live games, I like 30/0 and 5/0.
I like 30/0 because it is about the most time I have to spend on a single game and it is the closest I can get to OTB time controls. It also gives me an opportunity to practic what I've developed in my Online Chess games.
5/0 I like because I feel it forces me to speed-up simpler calculations. I'm hoping this will help make more basic calculations become engrained and not require too much thought so I can spend my time in longer games thinking about more complex things.
I also like 3day/move games for study and habit building.
Are you a fast player ? Then how fast ? Or are you the other way around ? And how slow ?
