Only the TD will be able to say why you and one other - (the two players leading the tournament http://www.chess.com/tournaments/players.html?id=22691&page=1) - were removed. Have you tried messaging him?
Where can I find out why I was I removed from a tournament?

I recently joined the1400 AND UNDER INVITATIONAL tournament. ...
... I was leading my group, having beat everyone in my group twice, playing the best chess of my life. 8-0-0 24 tiebreak points. YEAH!
... I check the standings... and see that I have been REMOVED. ... Now I'm trying to hash out some rational explaination why I was removed. I have questions.
Why was I removed?
...
Was the removal automatic is the tournament creation?
Will it linger like a felony or can I count it as a win?
...
The TD appears to be removing players, manually, whose ratings are now somewhat higher than the maximum for registration.

Thank you all for your quick responses and candid input, more than I received from the TD.
If this is a ratings issue, it is interesting to see that it has happened in other tournaments run by this TD as well. And happens arbitrarily. In the same tournament, there is another player with an identical record and slightly lower rating who remains active.
I began the with a 1380 rating, well within the tournament controls. My rating increase beyond the tournament restrictions was primarily due to me playing my 8 tournament games, against comparably rated players, so well. (I did play a few games against my 900 rated girlfriend that week.) I thought the higher that I placed in round 1 would give me a easier draw in round 2, similar to the seeding of players in a tennis tournament. I never considered it would, or even could, get me removed.
In hindsight, the proper strategy would have been to play just well enough to make the top 2 in my group, advance to the next round and then intentionally lose, or draw, my remaining games. It just seems to me that would be unfair to others, if not cheating. Even though "fair" is now replaced with "carnival," I get too caught up in the battle to even entertain throwing games, even if it means losing the war.
I recently joined the1400 AND UNDER INVITATIONAL tournament. It was the second tournament I have ever entered. The tournament promised to be more exciting than the World Cup's 1 game at a time, 3 days/move, as if time stood still pace. And was it ever exciting. For a couple reasons. Here's the tournament description,
1400 AND UNDER INVITATIONAL
I began play with a 1380 rating, most of my almost 50 games played against my girlfriend, OCHair(976), a promising rookie whom I will never "LET" win.
The format of the 1400 AND UNDER INVITATIONAL is GREAT. Day 1, my home page says "MY MOVE" for 4 games against 4 new people. All of a sudden, I'm thinking chess all day. I wake up each morning like a kid on christmas day waiting to see my opponents next move. I'm telling my non-chess playing friends at work about the games. Twice I recovered from losing positions to win. One opponent became a friend. The other refused to move again and forfeited on time. (I think he felt a bit butt hurt.) I was leading my group, having beat everyone in my group twice, playing the best chess of my life. 8-0-0 24 tiebreak points. YEAH!
I'm anxious as can be, waiting for round 2, watching the remaining games play out when... I check the standings... and see that I have been REMOVED. My initial reaction was to shake my head in disbelief. I was completely crushed and emotionally devastated. Then the rage. "#$%@" everybody, everything, the TD, the site, chess itself. Now I'm trying to hash out some rational explaination why I was removed. I have questions.
Why was I removed?
Where can I and others this may have happened to (2 other in this tourney) find out why we where removed?
Was the removal automatic is the tournament creation?
Will it linger like a felony or can I count it as a win?
And, hopefully it won't come to this, what are links to other good online chess sites?
sincerely, timid timmy(yorgovernor)
