World Rapid Individual Championship just ended.
The "retired" Magnus won (again) by a clear point, for the ninth time, while Gukesh ended up 20th.
So ummm, yes, it is a close call. Actually I think Gukesh is much better at table tennis.
Ahem...... 20th y'all. Gukesh is consistent.

All these mean that Hikaru may well be "better" if you are smoking something really strong.
I suspect most of the people saying Hikaru is better are enjoyers of his youtube content and online presence and allowing that to be the deciding factor in their judgements.
I'm an Indian too. I'm Tamil too. I'm from Chennai too. I even studied in the same school as Gukesh. But the amount of glaze we Indians have is going beyond acceptable limits. Gukesh has a long way to go before he claims he is better than Carlsen.
Gukesh is going to be completely destroyed by whoever wins the Candidates in March! He might even lose to Hikaru! Magnus is laughing so much at this "fake champion"...

Magnus. Magnus is arguably the GOAT, and he is still at the top of his game.
Gukesh has a great chance to repeat, although I am hoping for Hikaru.
