11th Poikovsky Tournament

The 11th edition of the Poikovsky Tournament in honour of the former world champion and prospective FIDE president Anatoly Karpov runs from 2-13 June.

Last year's winner Alexander Motylev (pictured) will defend the title he won in last year's event.  Sergey Karjakin and Dmitry Jakovenko will also renew their recent rivalry in the final of the ACP World Rapid Cup.

The size of the field has increased from 10 last year to 12 this year, in a single round-robin format.
