Vidit started strong early with a smooth victory over GM Alexandra Kosteniuk in round three.
After scoring 10.5/11 to win last week's Titled Tuesday, GM Anton Korobov was again the last perfect player this week. He began 6/6 after delivering what turned out to be Vidit's only loss of this week's event.
In round 10, Vidit easily toppled GM Alexander Grischuk's King's Indian (below), while Bortnyk defeated Nakamura to keep up with Vidit entering the final round.
Round 11 began with Vidit and Bortnyk as the only players on 9/10, and with Jobava and GM Daniil Dubov as the only ones on 8.5/10. Vidit and Bortnyk both fought for the win but each held a 76-move draw through time trouble, while Jobava joined the top three by taking down Dubov in a more interesting game. Nakamura, Quparadze, and Le all won in the last round to pass Dubov into the tie for fourth place.
