Streaming And Content Creation

Pokimane (also known as Poki) started streaming regularly on Twitch in 2017. In that same year, she gained more than 450,000 followers, a feat that earned her the Shorty Awards' "Best Twitch Streamer of the Year" award. A few months later, Pokimane surpassed the 1,000,000 followers mark. Today, Poki boasts a 7.2 million following on the platform, making her one of Twitch's ten biggest streamers (January 2021).

Part of her success comes from her laidback personality and light-hearted sense of humor, combined with impressive gaming skills. Pokimane plays a wide range of games on her stream, including League of Legends, Fortnite, Minecraft, and Among Us. She also spends a considerable amount of time interacting with her followers in the Just Chatting category.

Pokimane also has two widely successful YouTube channels, with her main one having more than 6.39 million subscribers (January 2021). On it, she mostly uploads highlights from her Twitch streams and other content about her life, business, and opinions on various subjects. Below is one of Poki's most viewed videos of her playing Fortnite with an eight-year-old fan.

Pokimane's second successful YouTube channel is dedicated exclusively to ASMR. On it, she has more than 700,000 followers who listen to Poki's recordings of different sounds to help them fall asleep or relax.

Pokimane's online success is not limited to Twitch and YouTube. She also has a massive presence on Instagram with 5.6 million followers, Twitter with 3 million, and TikTok with 4.4 million (January 2021). She is also one of the founders of the popular OfflineTV YouTube channel.

BlockChamps And PogChamps 3

Pokimane competed for the first time in an online chess tournament in 2021 during BlockChamps. WFM Alexandra Botez and her sister Andrea Botez, from BotezLive, organized this event, which broke viewership records for a single chess stream.

Pokimane also had coaching sessions with GM Hikaru Nakamura in preparation for PogChamps3. Nakamura analyzed games with her and taught Pokimane how to attack with the London System.

The Twitch star has been dedicating herself to improving her chess game before PogChamps 3 starts. If you want to see how Pokimane will handle other streamers over the 64 squares, make sure you don't miss a day of PogChamps3!
