MESSAGE FROM THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR
Welcome to the 2014 Anita Hirst Memorial Tournament.
Thank you for taking part in this event, which is of special significance to us, both individually and as a group. For this tournament is one of the means by which we honour and commemorate the memory of our late founder Anita Hirst, who passed away in November 2012.
I wish you all luck as you get to know your chess, as well as your teammates, better. This tournament is an excellent means of realising both objectives in the spirit of friendly competition. Play well, above all, play fair; and please do your best not to time out.
Please note this is a NO VACATION Tournament, that is why it is 7 days a move. Should you need a longer break, please arrange with your opponent for them to move as late as possible, thus allowing you more time.
