This is a "No Vacation" tournament!

The April 2019 GeoChess is for players with ratings between 1375 and 1750. In this month's edition, there is a 50% advance rate with medium-sized groups (4(2)->2) and so you'll play six simultaneous games per round. Only players with more than 100 gamesless than an average move time, and less than a 1% time-out rate may join. Please note that there is no vacation time. Since this has come up, I'll boot players with ratings above 1750 the day or so before the tournament starts to try to get clean numbers for the groups (chess.com automatically boots players with ratings that are too high before the tournament starts anyway).

This tournament will not start until April 15th, 2019.  The tournament does not auto-start if it fills before then (so that players can plan on a starting date). I may delay it one or two days following the 15th if it needs to fill.  There is a new GeoChess tournament dedicated to a different country each month.

がんばろう!

PS: The Rook Edition is a parallel tournament limited to players with ratings at 1400 or lower.  You can go to this month's rook edition (Japan) from this link

...

The March tournament is Nigeria.

Next month's tournament (May) is Canada. I'm testing a "King Edition" next month... Here they are:
GeoChess : 2019.May : Canada : Rook (<1425)
GeoChess : 2019.May : Canada : Standard (1375 - 1750)
GeoChess : 2019.May : Canada : King (>1400)

Dear Chess Players:

I just wanted to let you know that at midnight tonight (GMT), I'll boot all the players outside the ratings range and set the tournament to autostart as soon as its filled.  Please be sure you're in the right ratings category (if your ratings are too low, please consider joining the parallel tournament: https://www.chess.com/tournament/geochess-2019-april-japan-rook-edition.  I don't have a open tournament set up this month, but will do in the future (next month's: https://www.chess.com/tournament/geochess-2019-may-canada-king-edition).

Best regards and enjoy the games,
Vaansen
