A chess opening can get messed up so early that you can’t really evaluate what happens afterwards. GM Roman Dzindzichashvili nonetheless presses on with this member analysis, showing how two players handle the aftermath of a “corrupted opening” very differently. In an unbalanced position, one side plays with a clear plan, while the other flounders about aimlessly. The result is predictable but no less instructive.
