For your humor sir:
Zero blocked
Member Since: Aug 23, 2009
I have blocked a few persistent laggers that I have encountered in blitz games, and a few that have cussed at me. It was never my intent to do more than avoid ever playing them again. I won't count them, but they number more than two dozen. I block them by right clicking and blocking user within live chess. It was my assumption that this action aplied only there. Seeing that my assumption is incorrect, I may unblock the lot.

Does your computer come with a block button? lol.
Looks like you may be my outlier.

No lol I just don't take peoples crap
So far it seems that everyone is either really patient or really "block happy."
Some good stuff.
Hope to get about 15 or more data points.
Oh I am not "block happy" as you put it but I have had a bit more than my fair share of creeps giving me shit hence why I have so many blocked

I didn't mean offense by it. I just discovered it yesterday and will be using it quite a bit myself, especially when a situation arises like Rich described.
So stats_man how many members have you got blocked?
three. But i just discovered it yesterday so give me time...lol
Here are the results.
I must remind you of my disclaimer in original post as, due to the nature of the survey, this cannor be considered scientific and the margin or error could be very large.
N = 10 responses
B = Blocks = 109
D = Total member days = 4110
So we get
Average membership time: 411 days
Average blocks / member = 10.9 blocks
Average time between each single block: 37.7 days
I would like to perform an unofficial statistical experiment with your help.
My goal is to ascertain the average number of blocked members the chess.com community has as a function of time (measured in days since registration).
Of course, this cannot be considered as scientific since:
a. it is not random (i.e. you can choose to respond or not)
b. it is not stratified (i.e. those who do not look at forums are excluded)
c. I have no way to verify the accuracy of your response.
d. It will likely be based on too small a sample.
But if you could humor me, then please respond with the following:
1. The total number of members on your block list (no names).
2. The date you registered (I can get this from your profile if needed).
