We should have a feature tournament every month and if you win, it should show up on your profile for example 1st monthly chess.com tournament.
Chess.com Feature Request and Wishlist #4

how about chess.com be accessed by mobile phones or handsets? just a suggestion.
by the way, I very much agree with the ""A "play from this position vs. computer" feature to practice situations"".
that would be great.
and for the group leaders, can we give them trophies that says something like, "renowned leader award".
for a leader that's been so active in his group.
my lips are sealed ;)
you have sealed your lips for quite some time erik. anyways, thanks for the new feature. I have downloaded it already.
great job. I love it.

......................
...I think it would be great if we can be "prepaid members". that is, a member can access this much if he pays this much or something.
we can pay via our airtime load from our cell phone network provider like what I pay when I download on gameloft.
thank you.
now that my first wish on this wish list has been granted. I wish this one be granted too. or perhaps we can pay via our smart money or G-cash.
this can be a pretty easy way of payment for us.
by the way, those are payments through our phone network providers.
thanks and more power to you, erik et al.

I'd like to suggest that as the trophy list includes sports appreciation, that it also include educational appreciation, (e.g. history, math, etc.) Also, can the icon for a cup of coffee be added? Thanks.

Ok, so my problem is that when I go into a groups Vote Chess page where there is a list of all vote chess games, i cannot tell whos move it is.
There is always a clock that says "next move" but it doesnt say who will get the next move. I have to click onto each indevidule game to find out if i need to vote or not.
Could it be changed to something more like Online Chess where there is both a Time Left and a Status column.
If you dont understand what I am asking for, first visit your groups' vote chess page. if your still conused, ask and I will explain.

i'm super-swamped. i'll get to answer all of this in a week or so. sorry - i can't answer every single issue :((

Great site. Another suggestion: Move 'my home' on the directory bar to left or center so those of us with slightly smaller screens don't have to use two scroll moves to get to it.

(Specifically the pre-scheduling vacations part, including the ability to expose your schedule)
Artfizz's original suggestion in that thread is a good one as well.

Here is a discussion about including a setting option before starting a game/tournament to allow/deny vacation usage during the game/tournament.

Such a feature would fundamentally alter the whole nature of LiveChess; it would become, effectively, equivalent to Turn-based Chess. A key differentiator between OTB chess and Correspondence chess is that OTB-style chess is generally played within a single session, with no pauses during which outside assistance could be consulted. Turn-based chess already provides precisely the interruptible play environment that you are seeking. Or am I missing something?

correct. we are not going to allow for pausing in live games.

I've lost a few turn based games because of the phone (or one time, a pizza....). I'd support a pause request option provided it requires approval from your opponent, has an expiry once accepted, and blanks out your board.
Turn based just isn't the same experience as live, and although I personally prefer the former I can understand where there might be a desire to play interruptible live chess without having to resort to turn based to "pause" a game.

I think you just deal with it in live chess. I remember going to the Virginia Open when I was in high school. All my games ran long, so I had no time between rounds. I never even got to eat lunch. I ended up getting up from one of my games and taking ten minutes to get a soda and a candy bar. I lost ten minutes off my clock, but I came back and finished the game.

There are probably many live sites where it would be attractive, once in a while, to be able to pause them. The main one that springs to mind is eBay. Occasionally, a minor crisis arises and I am not able to get back onto the site in time to place a winning bid. Operating in real time is, unfortunately for me at those times, part of the intrinsic nature of online auctions. It would have far-reaching implications to be able to stop the clocks in such cases.
Being able to undo moves is a similar case. It required the introduction of a special mode, to prevent any possibility of this feature being abused in normal play.
LiveChess is fragile enough, by all accounts, without the addition of such far-reaching changes. I strongly suspect, that if a separate mode of pausible live games were available, there would be few takers. The main complaints about the existing system are time lags, unresponsiveness and disconnections leading to interrupted games. Also, I can't see how blanking the board could be executed effectively.

Fair enough -- operating in real time is part of the intrinsic nature of life. This is why I don't answer my phone (or receive a pizza, for that matter) while driving.
That being said, I don't think the technical challenges would be that difficult to overcome, and the potential for abuse is the reason for the caveats I added (although they may not address everything, the ability to decline a request should be a catchall for those who are wary). The biggest challenge I can see is that it's likely just not a priority in the face of all of the other great suggestions in this thread.
I'm still desperately wanting to see pop-up boards when I mouse-over the "view" link on the "Alerts" panel. That way I can review a position without having to leave the page I'm on.
(Did I mention I also wanted to be able to submit moves from the mouse-over board? Baby steps....)
