How many ppl here actually REMEMBER what the old look actually LOOKS like?
Use the Wayback Machine. Look in February 2012:

I wonder how many of the people who had a hissy fit with the most recent changes can even remember the stuff they were complaining about?
It can be summed up in one word:
Change.
Change it back now, and I bet many of the same complainants would be just as up in arms.

In the old version one could leave a note on a group's homepage. Why has this very useful facility been deleted in the new version? PLEASE reinstate it! (Or am I missing something?)
I posted a question about message composing. Where do I look for an answer? I can't just trawl through 80+ pages!

If you are a member of the group/club you should still be able leave notes. If you are not, it doesn't look like it is possible.

Is there an option to change the board color & pieces on the Daily Puzzle & Study thread page?
The person posting the puzzles decides what piece set and board color to use. That isn't something that uses your board preferences, or that you can change with site provided options.

wouldn't it be better if the user saw the board with their own preferences?
