It seems that chessbase is preparing for releasing The new version of the most popular chess engine in the world. Though the accurate date hasnot exactly been announced yet , but according to Amazon.de (very close source to C.B) , it will be in September ! ( next month).
chessbase people are very excited and say it will be a revolution in this field .
and afterwards Deep fritz 13 will come out and beat both Houdini and Rybka ...
What you think ?

If it is a less clunky and more user friendly interface, then that would be revolutionary enough for me.
Unless anyone has mastered Fritz 12 by becoming a "Grandmaster" or "World Champion" in Rated Mode, especially against the interchangeable engines that you can use, I see no need to get this just a few little extra bells and whistles. But that's just my two cents.

LOL!! Game and computer companies always say that something new and better with each passing year then when you get you're like "what the heck?" I should know I've been a victim of it for years. That's how they get you to come back and get you to give up your cash. Don't get me wrong I love Fritz 12 and Chessbase 11, but everything so compatible these days, I don't think it's necessary to always get the supposed "next big thing." *shrug*

I doubt that it will be named 13. probably 14.
I don't think it will get as many sales as it used to. Fritz used to be the best you could get, but now you would have to be stupid to pay for it or the deep version. Houdini and Fire are both stronger and free to download, and you can load them up on old fritz/chessbase software. Even if the new deep fritz is stronger than the lastest freeware engines, the freeware engines are constantly updating and will overtake them in a few months. I think either chessbase needs to put in a lot of investment and have a total rethink on the fritz engine series, or start moving away from it and concentrating on the chessbase side of their software more.
I think most of them buy it for GUI. They can add other engines and run them on Fritz interface!
I have at least 20-25 engines that I interchange with Fritz 12 and Chessbase 11 all the time for either playing or analysis and they range from 2500 to well over 3000. That kind of variety is way more than I need but it's always good to have.

Also on Arena you can run as many engines as you want.
Yes one can use Arena but those who are used to ctg books, cbh and chessbase training books they will prefer Fritz interface.
