Losing Streak

So I'm on a losing streak. And it sucks. Time for some input from my fellow chess.com members. How do you attempt to recover from a losing streak?

I'm thinking I should alter my training. I think I would benefit from more focus on when to accept exchanges, or how to decide between alternative lines. I definitely have a problem with only playing the first line I see, even if it ends in ruin.

Maybe a break is in order?

When I get into a losing streak I take a break from playing.

Usually no more than a 3 day break.

When I return I feel stronger than ever.

That's just me though...

Sounds like you need to take a break...

Playing me would give you your confidence back. lol  If I win, then you really are on a losing streak.  It is great to win, but I play because enjoy the game.

I would try to grab a simple tactics book and just blast through them..  it would be like hitting a bunch of free-throws. then as gayknight said play some people lower than you to gain confidence

I'd take a break.  It's a burnout.  I've only tried playing through it once and it wasn't nice.

Hi. How are you? Hope you have solved the problem of your losing streak. its a state of mind; if you are distracted you will lose, but confidence and focus is everything. Always take a break though and make every game a full battle plan, taking time to make your move.

Good to catch up with you again!
