Prep for Magnus Carlsen?

I'm reposting this same blog on a forum: Some of you might know that I have Muscular Dystrophy, so I qualified for a wish from the wonderful organization "Make a Wish." My wish was to play chess with Magnus Carlsen, and it just got approved. Now I don't know the details yet, but it will be in Norway this summer, and I am really hoping to play him. But if I do get to play him, I want to make the most out of the game, even though I know I am going to lose. So how do you prepare against the World Champion? He plays a ton of openings, and is really good at positional play and endgames. Any advice helps. Thanks.

If Anand couldn't book up for MagMax, nothing I could suggest would be of any aid to you.  You might try this approach--if there are lines that give you trouble, play them against the king and see how he squashes them.  It's the only help I could give you.

Wow... that is awesome and very cool. can you imagine how many people would like to have the chance to play a once in a life time chess great... like Carlsen?

How did that all work? I mean..how did the Make a Wish Foundation arange it... sounds very cool. I think it would be a great post/thread to keep us updated. :)

As far as preperation... I think what you have been doing ... a regular play and training regiment...is good enough. I mean... how do you prepare for someone who is at the cutting edge of chess theory? lol Very difficult indeed.
