I think nowadays that we have so many Grandmasters, something like "Super GM" to distinguish group of really the best wouldn't be that bad of an idea.

I would be in favor of FIDE raising the bar for GM.  2500 is very tough to get to, but raising it up to 2600 would probably cut out a lot of very strong players (IMs) out of the GM title just because they earned 3 norms.  They could announce the change, and have it take effect in a year or so, to give the top players who still deserve the title for the current regulations a chance to reap the fruits of their efforts.  That being said, they could just let everybody who already has a GM title keep it.

Split the GM title into:

Good Master

Great Master

Gifted Master

Gorgeous Master (attractive female GMs)

Then what about attractive male gms?

I agree that the Grandmaster title doesn't quite garner the same respect as it once did, but I don't know if it's a bad thing; it just shows that the top level of players has increased in strength over the past few decades.

That said, if a new title were to be added, (e.g. Senior Grandmaster for 2600+/2650+/2700+ even) it would again help to define a higher level of competition that could be a benchmark for the future. Changing the requirements for the current titles would be more than a bit unfair to all the talented up and comings, and would be more than a bit confusing in a few years when having older, low 2400 GMs go up against a high 2500s still looking for the title would be fairly common.

I also want more titles at the bottom:

Wood Amateur 800-999
Marble Amateur 1000-1199
Bronze Amateur 1200-1399
Silver Amateur 1400-1599
Gold Amateur 1600-1799
Platinum Amateur 1800-1999
Diamond Amateur 2000-2199
and only then the master-ranks

Strictly speaking there are class titles that correspond to those rating ranges, although I agree the names could be a bit more exotic.

Class F 800-999

Class E 1000-1199

Class D 1200-1399

Class C 1400-1599

Class B 1600-1799

Class A 1800-1999

Expert 2000-2199

Good to know anyways.

Now that I know it I can say: Getting from Class F to E took me like a week. Getting from Class E to D took me like 2 months.
And getting from D to C is what I'm working on since like 8 months and I've maybe made the first and easier 3rd of it.

That actually is quite depressing.

Super GM is already an unofficial but known term, but if you made it an actual title then there will be super duper GMs amongst those Super GMs

Lol, I have an idea, instead of beginner, they should just be called apprentices, next class are the squires, then the knights, which are expert level. Nobility is reserved for the masters.

I would say, leave "elite GM" for a more subjective assessment and give the official "super GM" to those who remain over 2750 for a number of games, like 30 or something.

In my understanding of the category "elite GM," there are only 4 of them at the moment: Carlsen, Kramnik, Aronian and Anand.
