I am observing cheating/fault in chess.com timer

I was playing with buldermar(1156) 2|1 match and even i had almost 1 minute more time than him but i lose my match by time... so funny. His timer used to be restart before 3-5 seconds in every step and i was highly surprised that how it is possible? either the chess.com timer have fault or he know how to cheat at chess.com. Please do consider my problem because i observe such situation many times before.

Does your internet lag?

7thSense

Maybe it was that it's a game with time increments after each move (some games use things such as 2 second increments or 5 seconds or whatever)

Internet lag / low speed is a reason why many people have low live rating. It is the same with every chess server I know. In particular, internet speed is low in some countries of Latin America and  Middle East.

I have not yet seen a chess server where there is some sort of compensation for players who face such problems (addditional time increment ?). Maybe it is technically difficult ?

thanks to all of you dear friends.

Please see this article on the Support site for explaining Live chess clocks:

If you believe it to be a different issue please contact support.

I run into this issue too. Most of the time its lag but sometimes i wonder...

Ya - I get this quite often. Today (3 Oct 21:00 GMT+2) it's even worse than before. And my lag indicator is green ("good connection (low lag)".

What happens today is that I'm waiting a long time for my opponent to move, and when he does, my time immediately gets slashed by a minute or two!!! No way I can win any game. (Had this once or twice before as well).

Tried different browsers and CTRL-F5. Problem persists.

Tomorrow it will probably be fine again.

If you move fast you get more time (i'm not saying to move really fast)

procopiatcomcast

well I would really like for someone to explain to me the clock magic I see here. There is obviously a way to cheat here with the clock. I have never lost a connection when I have a bad position-I have lost hundreds of connections with winning positions

KCOLD

exactly proco.....just had it happen to me....it was clean.....no buffering or board reset........this guy

mab1994

just got back 39 secs in a tight end game where he was low on time.....then i see the other comments on his board as testament to some kind of technique that is used to recover time. When i asked him about it....he admitted it and laughed.....saying "u still won". This is a travesty and needs to be dealt with.....not a laughing matter ....and im afraid too common out here.

Chessman265

Lol. Hard to understand what is sarcasm and what is not.

If you are joking about this, this is a damn funny troll.

If you are serious... Deal with it. Nobody's cheating, check your internet connection. The green bar next to your name doesn't mean much.

ploddingpawn

I seriously wonder if there really is a way to cheat...

usud_boad99

My oppinion user "youjustblundered" is use cheat.  And I think.. "youjust" and "kay4000" is same player...

pilotk9

You guys realize that the mere fact you lost doesn't necessarily mean your opponent cheated... Right?

CheckAttack

i lose so many on time idd be over 2000 but something is way wrong i don't know if its on my end or thecsevers end or a cheat but i only gey 1 1/2 min in a 3 min game unless i change the conection in options to cnd live 2 then i get over 2 mins but its still bad but i win more . so in all in all i have to be twice as fast as everyone eles. i win about hafe of my games i don't get kn9w where with rating but i manage to keep it where it is/ and i'm super fast from it
