Maybe because some are deleted for spam or abuse, and they don't want to bother differentiating between those, and the others.
Needlessly erasing deleted users content!
that is correct, woodshover. but yes, ozzie, we need to fix this. it's actually not GONE, just not shown.
Would it be possible to make it so that people who close their own account don't get their stuff disappeared?
There's so much funny and useful content gone into limbo with the closed accounts.
I hope we can get it all back someday.
can i suggest they be renamed as guestxxx where xxx will be a unique number.
No need to alter the username. It would just be "Account Closed" when you click on it.
In light of the recent account closures, one of the highest rated members, Gonnosuke, was found cheating. However, he also posted a lot of chess-related stuff that proved he did have some significant knowledge in this game. I honestly would like to be able to access it and see if I could understand it any better than I did, say, a year ago. He also posted other interesting tidbits that are definitely worth reading time and again.
So here's another member who would certainly appreciate seeing this change occur. :)

Going to his content page, I see nothing.

I guess it's just people who delete their own accounts.

Just checked back on my Dr_Doc_MD account, which I closed off myself. No way to access that content (not that it was particularly incredible... just a browse through memory lane... not that it was so long ago).
There are a lot of deleted accounts on here whose contents we can still read. They changed so we could a couple month ago.
I know it's been this way for a long time, but:
When a user gets deleted, instead of deleting all of their forum posts (and all of their comments in tactics trainer), how about replacing the username associated with such posts to be "CLOSED ACCOUNT" or something?
