I made a Benoni tournament about three months ago, and forgot about it until today. So far there's only me and one other player signed up - surely there are eight other players who want to dip into this great opening? No vacation, rating range 1600-2300.

Here is a link to Modern Benoni (No Vacation) so anyone interested does not have to search for it.

There is an excess demand for tournament players. Invitations are necessary unless you do not mind waiting for months or years for the timeouts to start.

Advertising: Save me having to find more eligible players to invite. Exclusive Offset 1101-1275: 100 games completed.

Thanks TadDude, shouldn't have forgotten the one vital piece of information. That's what a hangover does. I invited about 20 people when I set it up, but none of them seemed to want to play. It's a great opening, though.

In fact, do you want to play?

Use your diamond membership to search the database for people who play it. Look into completed tournaments for past benoni thematics and invite the players.

How do I search the database for players of a particular opening?

If some of those were basic members at the time they may have been committed to another member-created tournament. Restrict invitations to premium members since they can enter multiple member-created tournaments. You may have better luck.

If you wish you can check these player lists from current tournaments for active players who are premium members.

1601-1800, 1801-2000 and 2001-2200. Most are premium members. Note the timeout restriction for these tournaments is 10%.

If you run out of invitations, temporarily increase the maximum number of players in your tournament then reset to 10 once the invitations are sent.
