Players' Rivalry And Nepomniachtchi's Positive Score Against Carlsen

For the first time since Carlsen took over the throne in 2013, the champion will defend his title against an opponent who has a positive record against him in classical games. Carlsen and Nepomniachtchi have known each other since they were kids and have played a total of 13 classical games throughout their careers. The Russian leads the score 4-1, with eight draws.

Nepomniachtchi will enter the match hoping that his positive score throws the world champion off-balance. Carlsen expects to even the score. Who will prevail? We get closer to the answer to this question with every passing second!

World-Class Commentators In 10 Languages

Chess.com has put together an elite team of international chess commentators to lead 10 different broadcasts in other languages. Fan-favorites GMs Francisco Vallejo Pons, Krikor Mekhitarian, Sergey Karjakin, Alexandra Kosteniuk, and NM Kevin Bordi are only a few of the star hosts covering the event.
