GM Daniel Naroditsky had several roles at Chess.com during his tragically short life—he would have turned 30 years old as we publish this article on November 9, 2025—but his first role was as an article author. One of Naroditsky's many impressive feats was publishing a book when he was just 14 years old, and he would bring that writing talent to Chess.com at the age of 18.
Danya's first article appeared on Chess.com in February of 2014. He would go on to write nearly 100 articles for Chess.com on a vast range of instructional topics, mainly in 2014 and 2015. On this page you can find links to all of these articles, as well as links to his 2019 video lessons and some of the biggest Chess.com broadcasts on which Danya commentated.
Danya's life and contributions to the game of chess amounted to far, far more than just his work for Chess.com, of course. In addition to Chess.com, his own channels, and two books, he also wrote for Chess Life and the New York Times. This page is not meant to be exhaustive, but just one permanent way through which you can grow more familiar with his brilliance as an educator and commentator. In other places, you can also read tributes from across the chess world or IM Danny Rensch's own memories of Danya.
Articles
Almost any chess topic you can think of—great players and games, tactical motifs and strategic considerations, the opening, middle, and ending segments of a game, and many others—there is a Daniel Naroditsky article about it on Chess.com. You can find them below.
