My Favorite Chess Player
I just wanted to take a moment to mention someone that is truly amazing to me. His name is Abhi, and he is my favorite chess player! I met him a while back on chess.com and was impressed immediately. I noticed right away that he plays chess (and thinks) in a very unique way!
Abhi noticed that I was just a beginner and offered to show me some chess-basics. He asked for nothing in return except for friendship and some tips on speaking English better than he already did. He seemed nice enough and i couldn't see the harm, so I got on board. Little did I know what I had in store...
Abhi delved in right away, showing me some standard openings, and analyzing my own games from chess.com and showing me where I was making errors that were stunting my own chess development. Not only that, but he also gave me material to study, showed me examples of professional games, taught me chess-etiquette, and met me nearly every night on live-chat to answer any questions that I had... and this is just the tip of the iceberg (that's a 'Titanic' reference for you, Abhi).
As it turns out, not only is Abhi a chess-genius, but he is also one of the most kindhearted, selfless, people I have ever met. Sometimes he is in the mood to sing, sometimes he wants to play chess, sometimes we study, and sometimes he just likes to chat about life.
Here is a link to some of Abhi's rules that every chess player should consider - Abhi's Steps for Planning
Recently, he started his own Youtube channel too, where you can learn some awesome tips on improving your own game - Abhi's Youtube Channel
I'd also love to share an amazing game played by Abhi that really shows his unique and brilliant way of thinking...
