Rook Endgame Lessson #10
Everyone should know that 2 connected pawns on the 6th rank is equal to a rook and in most cases, the 2 pawns wins vs a rook. However, in this position, Black can not stop the passed pawns but finds another way to draw, with constant mating threats. This instructive composition by Moravec from 1924 demonstrates superb team work between the king and rook.

54's Avatar: In black and white to represents chess, the rook represents 5, the fist represents 5 fingers clenched in to a fist for fighting, the swords for team matches, the fireworks for battles, the light scanning the area. And if you look at the background long enough, you will begin to see the light. The light is Team 54 emerging from the battle victorious.
