Luck seems to be on my side here at chess.com! I can't seem to lose!
I win games that I should draw. I draw games that I should lose. I have even managed a turnaround a game I should have lost and won it. I win games on time in situations that can be looking bad for me.
I analyse every game I play and find that yes, I am still making crappy moves from time to time, but most of the time, my bad moves are ignored by choice, missed completely or another error is played by my opponent, usually a bit worse than my original error. If not, then I lose some ground, but seem to make it up later.
I figure that this cannot be happening, I was quite rusty when I started here at chess.com about six months ago, after an 18 year break from the game, so I figure that I cannot already be playing so well, at least I don't think so. I guess being able to look up openings of games in progress in books and database certainly helps my openings (which I totally suck at OTB as I don't know much opening theory) but that cannot account for all of it!
Seems the old axiom holds true; chess is not about making the best moves, just better ones than your opponent!
