Unfamiliarity leads to draw

I was playing a chess game in an opening I was completely unfamiliar and took a draw because I felt uncomfortable with the position. I didn't feel like I was playing well and offered the draw expecting it to be declined and ordered to play on, but it was accepted almost immediately and I guess I'm OK with it, yet kind of upset.

I guess thats what you get for eating Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream straight out of the half gallon while playing chess. Multi-tasking...not a good move while playing chess....argh.

Psychology does play a large part in chess. I guess you usually are harder and yourself and I just wasn't feeling it. Any thoughts?

The match settings were 40 min game. After 21 moves, she had about 25:48. I had 35:26.

A side note - I thought Black's 10th move was really smooth.
