Marvel Is "Looking Ahead"

Marvel Is "Looking Ahead"

I've been ignoring Marvel for a while now because of my new obsession with the X-Men but I think it's about that time to jump back in. As you probably know, I started watching the MCU last summer and I finished around May or April of this year.

If you didn't know, then welcome to Jetplane Movies.

About 10 days ago, ( It depends when you're reading this... ) Marvel released a video on their YouTube channel announcing EVERY SINGLE UPCOMING Disney+ Marvel project coming soon:

Something I noticed in that video is how there are a LOT of Marvel Animation projects coming soon:

  • Eyes Of Wakanda
  • What If...?
  • Marvel Zombies
  • Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man

Besides the Spider-Verse series, I can't think of any Marvel Animation project I actually liked. I never watched What If...? because of it's animation, and I probably won't watch ANY of these ones either. ( Making an exception for Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man )

There's a lot to unpack here so let's hop to it!

Deadpool & Wolverine ( COMING TO DISNEY+ NOVEMBER 12th )

This movie looks SO. GOOD. I was hoping it would surprise everyone by squeezing through to a PG-13 rating even though everyone knows that would never in a million years happen. As I touched briefly in a previous BLOG, I feel like R rated Marvel/X-Men movies are just sad. The films are designed to be for teens and up and then they decide to make a movie that just COMPLETELY goes over the top and ruins everything. And after spending the last few months watching X-Men, I really feel like I'm missing out. Just from the 7 seconds of footage in the "Looking Ahead" video, I already have so many answers to questions I had about X-Men. 🤪

What If...? ( SEASON 3 COMING SOON TO DISNEY+ DECEMBER 22 )

Like I said, I can't stand Marvel Animation. Never got into it, probably never will. This series just feels like a money grab and a waste of time. Sure, it might be cool to see Happy Hogan save Christmas but does anyone really CARE?

Eyes Of Wakanda ( COMING SOON TO DISNEY+ AUGUST 6, 2025 )

VERY good idea, it just seems stupid for it to be animated if it's that significant. I would watch this in the snap of my fingers if it was live-action. ( I might watch it for... research purposes... )

Marvel Zombies ( COMING SOON TO DISNEY+ OCTOBER 2025 )

The second I heard about this, I almost cried.

NO ONE NEEDS THIS.

MARVEL, PLEASE.

STOP IT.

GET SOME HELP.

Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man ( COMING SOON TO DISNEY+ JANUARY 29, 2025 )

Looks very "Disney XD" ish but I probably will watch this one. I've always been a fan of Spider-Man. I can tell this show will definitely appeal to more 7 year olds than any of the other Spider-Man movies or TV shows but who cares. I'll watch it for... research purposes... 😂

( SHE HULK POSTER BC I COULDN'T FIND ANY OTHERS AND ALSO DIDN'T FEEL LIKE IT HEHEHE )

DareDevil: Born Again ( COMING SOON TO DISNEY+ MARCH 4, 2025 )

Unlike Spider-Man, I was never a DareDevil fan. The Defenders seem kinda pointless to me. PLUS, I didn't even know The Defenders even existed until like 5 months ago... so........

Ironheart ( COMING SOON TO DISNEY+ JUNE 24, 2025 )

Already talked about this one a lot. HYPED.

Wonder Man ( COMING SOON TO DISNEY+ DECEMBER 2025 )

WAYYYYYY too much to process here. MORE INFO COMING SOON!

Now there were 2 movies that are NOT Disney+ Originals that I wanted to talk about as well. The first one being:

Captain America: Brave New World ( COMING SOON TO THEATERS FEBRUARY 14, 2025 )

The new trailer for Captain America: Brave New World was just released and I've already watched it twice. The trailer seems to focus a lot more on Isiah from FATWS so you should probably expect to see a lot more of him in this film.

Red Hulk seems very A.I. generated and not very realistic, in my opinion. When I was watching the official trailer by Marvel, right when they showed Red Hulk, it just felt like a "Darth Trailer" video and not the real thing. New mask looks SICK, tho.

I don't understand the villain's character. I mean, this is probably because I haven't read a single Marvel comic, but, at the beginning of all of this, the cast ( Including Kevin Feige ) were trying to keep Giancarlo Esposito's identity a secret by not telling everyone he was a Serpent King or whatever. Why is this so important? What is the Serpent Society? I'm so confused. COMMENT BELOW WHAT THIS MEANS!

Thunderbolts* ( COMING SOON TO THEATERS MAY 2, 2025 )

Thunderbolts* has been on my radar for a while now. I first found out about it like LAST YEAR and now, after all these trailers and 3 minute sneak peeks, I'm even more hyped.

This "Special Look" was even longer than the trailer. And it was even better, too.

I don't want to say the language surprised me, but... dang. I hate to say it, but I think this film will probably drop an F bomb. Maybe even 2. I DON'T think it will be rated R, though. Here's why: I will literally kick down Kevin Feige's door if he makes it rated R. I know it probably felt GOOD to write Deadpool & Wolverine because he had never really done a Marvel movie like that before but making this R would just suck all the life out of me. Kevin Feige, in the 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% chance you're reading this, please, if it's not too late, don't make this film rated R. The MCU needs this. And we don't need it to be R for it to be awesome.

Besides the language, this sneak peek was everything I could have dreamed of and more. I'm not joking, almost EVERY SINGLE POINT I made in the Thunderbolts* Trailer Reaction BLOG came to life. The humor, the team chemistry, etc. There was non-stop laughing all throughout the trailer. I can tell, we're in for a real treat.

Since it was my first time watching Marvel in April, I'm super excited to see some of these movies on the big screen very soon.

Thanks for reading! Hope you enjoyed!

Here's another sigma blog you should read: SIGMA

Jetplane Movies has been such an amazing journey for me. To look back over the years and see my style of writing change has been so fun and it's been such a blessing having all of y'all by my side. Whether this is your first time reading, or you've been a fan since the beginning. I thank you; from the bottom of my heart. This has been a very exciting part of my writing career and I'm so happy with how it's turned out. It's definitely had its ups and downs, (*Cough Cough* The @Jehtt Tribute) but I'm so excited to now be able to share these blogs with the Chess.com community... even though they are ALL about movies. Enjoy!
