Cleveland Open Rnd 4- Stacia Pugh v Patrick Kidwell (Closed Catalan)

Sep 3, 2017, 10:00 AM |

In my third game of the Cleveland Open I faced another college student named Patrick Kidwell (and he wasn't kidding around lol). After we both spent a lot of our clocks on the opening white found themselves victim to a simple tactic right after the thematic e4 break, but though material down after this unfortunate loss.. still had attacking chances!

I might be a positional player, but here is a rare game where you will see me attack! rawr! hehe It's fun going after someone's King.. I think I should try more often, preferably when I'm not down an exchange.  happy.png

The Cleveland Open was 5 rounds and I will post the other games as well in this short series. I played the U1500 section and the time control was 100 minutes for the first 40 moves, 30 minutes sudden death after that, and 10 second delay throughout. Enjoy!
