The Most Insane Opening Line
This opening line of the Danish Gambit is Absolutely Insane! In the all my time of playing chess, I have never seen such a crazy line! I doubt even many Grand Masters would have found all the moves to this amazing line! The only question there is, is that how on earth would anyone actually invented the moves of this line in the first place.
And now my student, I am going to show you this crazy line of the Danish, along with several lines to defeat blacks so called “refutations”.
The Crazy Line
As you know the Danish Gambit starts with 1.e4 e5 2.d4 exd4 3.c3 dxc3 4.Bc4 cxb2 5.Bxb2. Our line starts if black play 5…Bb4+ , one of blacks most popular moves, then 6.Nd2 Nf6 7.e5 Ne4 and black looks like he is doing fine, until you play 8.Bxf7+!!.
You see, after 8…Kxf7 you play 9.Qb3! forking the king and queen ,black usually plays d5 here, but then 10.exd5+ (a rare en passant check ) 10…Be6 11.Qxb4 Nxd2 and then you play Qxd2…right? Wrong! You play 12.Qf4+ ! 12…Kg8, and you play Qxd2…right? Wrong again! 13.dxc7! Qe8, and you take one of black’s knights…right? WRONG! You play 14.Qe5 threatening mate! 14…Qf7 15.cxb8=Q=+ Rxb8 16.Qxb8 Qf8,and you play Qxf8+ …right? WRONG!! 17.Qe5 Qf7 , then instead of Kxd2 you can play Nf3,trading knights, to open up the g file and then play Rg1 and you destroy blacks position, like say black goes h6 and Rh7 to defend (or more accurately try) the king, then you play O-O-O, starting a checkmate threat or Rd8,which black cant defend against.
By now your probably thinking “This is all good Noah, but is there any way black can equalize, or even win?” well the truth is, no, as will show you now.
#1st "Refutation"
One of the blacks best responses is 5…d5 sacrificing a pawn to get development, but we still have something prepared for them in this line to, you continue 6.Bxd5 Nf6 7.Nc3 Nxd5 8.Nxd5 c6 and you move your knight back…right? WRONG! We play 9.Nf6+!! gxf6 10.Qxd8 Kxd8 11.Bxf6 and you fork the king and rook, winning you the game.
#2nd "Refutation"
Another move which black may try is 5…Nc6, which is also a pretty good move, but we still have something prepared for this move! The line is 6.Nf3 Bb4+ 7.Nc3 Nf6 8.O-O O-O 9.Nd5 Nxd5 10.exd5 Ne7, then you play 11.Qd4 threatening checkmate and black is hopeless. If 11…f6 12.d6+ and it’s a discovered check and you will win the knight. If 11…Nf5 12.Qg4 d6 13.Bd3 and you win as you have to many threats.
