|After Week 5 the first half of the season will be over, and 3/4 divisions will get tighter, while the South Division will become clearer. For example in the Atlantic Division New York [2.5-1.5] is only one match point ahead of the last place Manhattan. [1.5-2.5] In the Northeast division New England [3.5-0.5] is 1 Match point ahead of Connecticut [2.5-1.5], while Connecticut is half a game ahead of Boston [2.0-2.0], for the second place playoff spot, Baltimore is in last, with [0.5-3.5] and if they want to have chances for a playoff berth, they need to win, I will try to predict what will happen in the match Boston vs Baltimore. [Boston gets white on boards 1 and 3] On board 1 IM Esserman has white against IM Bregadze, where Bregadze can defend against Essermans attack, and therefore the game will end in a draw. On board 2 SM Shmelov plays black against IM Enkhbat where Denys will comfortable hold the draw. On board 3 Martirosov has white against GM Kaufman, where Vadim will play very solid, and outplay his opponent, to take the point for the Blitz. Finally Krasik is black against Andrew Zheng, I don`t know much about him, but Ilya will use his rating advantage and outplay his opponent to win the game. So, Boston wins 3-1, and gets closer to either second or first place, depending on what happens in New England-Connecticut. Check out the games Wednesday night at 7:30 on Chess.com!
