Caro-Kann Tartakower | Pawn Structure Lesson

I recently did a live pawn structure lesson for the ChessGoals YouTube channel. At the end of the lesson, I showed this sample game I played from the Chicago Open. I had the black side of a Caro-Kann Tartakower that featured a pawn cube formation on the kingside! Not just doubled pawns, two sets of adjacent doubled pawns!

This game features some key themes.

  1. Using doubled pawns to your advantage.
  2. Pawn weaknesses around the king.
  3. Using pawns to block opposing forces.
