Welcome back to my blog. This is the first time I have made a blog and not done a tournament recap (although I did come off some rough ones earlier this month) I just wanted to recap my rating gain as I am not playing any more OTB rated events (as far as I am aware) this year. I have gotten great support from everyone reading (especially from my tournament where I went down 25 rating points) when I have a bad tournament, and when I have good ones. Without further ado, let's recap the year

May 2021: The end of May was really when I started getting back into chess after the lockdown. I came of a rough tournament At first but was able to bounce back from several good tournaments and the rating change was

1610 -> 1637

June 2021: June was mainly local quads at someone from my chess club's house (although I did have some swisses in there) Overall it was a good month for my rating, no really big drops. This was also the month I had summer vacation, so I didn't play as much. The rating change:

1637 -> 1664

July 2021: July was all smooth sailing with no losses from the month! This was also the month I cracked 1700 for the first time ever, which was a big achievement for me. The rating change:

1664 -> 1712

August 2021: August was all ups and downs going from 1700 down to 1670 and back up and back down and so on and so forth. This month was probably the worst one for me, as I hit my (At that time) peak of 1727. Then I had arguably the worst two tournaments ever. losing 58 after both was crushing. The rating change: 1712 -> 1669

September 2021: I really needed to make a comeback in September, and I think I did. The first tournament of the month was a really nice one that put me back up above the previous peak. I actually did a blog post on it.. Link here https://www.chess.com/blog/TaeKwonLogan/otb-tournament And ended the month with a respectable rating. Rating change: 1669 -> 1755

October 2021: While August was the worst month, October was the best month for my rating. The first tournament I went 3/4 against very tough competition with my only loss being to the Texas State Champion. That tournament pushed me over 1800 and I have another blog on it titled "How I crossed 1800." This was also the month I went to the Texas State Scholastic Grade Chess Championship with a respectable 4/6 and even drawing a 2080 rated CM. The rating change: 1755 -> 1824

November 2021: November didn't start out too good. I lost 25 rating points from a tournament and I ended up making a blog for it titled "I'm sort of sad." The month went okay after that. I did help direct a rather big scholastic tournament here locally, which was fun. I didn't play though so my rating didn't change. I didn't really play much this month. I did have a really sweet local quad at someone's house. I even beat the host! A 2000 rated expert. I have a blog on that entitled "Bouncing Back" I ended the month with a solid rating. Rating change: 1824 -> 1846

December 2021: December was all downhill. I played 2 tournaments (and don't plan to play anymore OTBs this month) one was a local swiss tournament and one was a local quad. I played poorly in both and am ashamed to talk about it. I scored 4/7 from the tournaments, but It was mostly against lower rated players. I don't really want to talk about December. The rating change: 1846 -> 1819

Still over 1800

Anyway guys I hope you enjoyed this post that wasn't a tournament recap. The final rating change: 1610->1819 a 209 point gain! Alright guys this is long enough, Ill see you guys in the next blog, Bye!
