Hosting Christmas Mafia (CVC)
I've hosted mafia before (with mixed results), but now I've picked up some things from more skilled hosts. For example, roleblocking roles no longer bring confusion now that I know to give everyone their results at the end of the night, instead of whenever they send their night actions in. Yes, if I remember correctly, I had to deal with this in a game.
So, I've decided to host Christmas-themed mafia in CVC. I used a pre-made rolelist with some changed wording and an added role or two. @unknown_girl_coder created these roles, and the original rolelist can be found here: https://www.chess.com/clubs/forum/view/mm-christmas-mafia

Christmastowners
Rudolph x 1 - Rudolph is a village role that gets confirmed by the game master after they publicly reveal who they are. During Day, their votes count as 2.
Prancer and his twin, Recnarp x 2- Prancer and Recnarp are village roles that pick one person each night to investigate, and find out their exact role.
Comet x 1 - Picks one person per night to find out who they used their role on.
Vixen x 1 - Picks one person per night to protect, and that person is safe from being killed by Santa and the Elves, along with any other threats.
Carolers x3 - The carolers are regular village people who do not have a night action. They may vote, and help the town, though.
Santa's Minions
Santa x 1 - Head of the elves. [See elves] He picks one person for the elves to kill each night. If all the elves die, Santa kills players himself, and will be vulnerable to Comet. Santa cannot be tracked except in the previously stated case. If investigated by Prancer, he will show up as caroler.
Elves x 2 - The elves are given a target by Santa in their group chat each night. They kill that person. If Santa dies, the Elves pick who they kill. Elves can be tracked.
Dasher x 1 - Dasher is in a group chat with Santa and the Elves, and picks one person each night to investigate and find their exact role.
Neutrals
Cursed Caroler x 1 - At the start of the game, the cursed caroler is told that they are a caroler. However, if Santa and the Elves try to kill the cursed caroler, the C.C. becomes an Elf. If the cursed caroler dies as a caroler, they win with the village. Until they are activated, they do not know who they are, and their job is to help the town.
Ebenezer Scrooge x 1 - May kill one person on any night. After doing so, becomes a caroler [See caroler] Before killing a person, he is neutral, but after, he becomes village. Wins if he kills Santa.
Mariah Carey x1 - Twice per game, may choose to sing “All I Want For Christmas” and cause everyone to be unable to perform their actions that night. However, the day after this Mariah Carey will not be able to vote, since she lost her voice. Wins if she survives to the end of the game.
Mrs. Claus x 1 - If anyone visits Mrs. Claus at night, they will die, unless protected by Vixen. Has to get at least 2 kills.
Blitzen x 1 - Blitzen’s goal is to be voted out. Once he is voted out, he may choose one person who voted him or abstained to kill.
Ghost of Christmas Past x 1 - After someone is killed, the Ghost of Christmas Past can assume their role, and become what they were before.
Jingle Bell x 1 - The Jingle Bell is given a target at the start of the game who they must try to have voted out. Once they get their target voted out, they are allowed to pick one person to kill each night.
In the original rolelist, Mariah Carey and Scrooge did not have win conditions. Both Mjt and Cactus brought this up. I asked Cactus what she suggests the wincons be but she went offline and no one else has said anything yet. I suggest the following wincons: Mariah Carey's is that she stops at least two murders with her OP singing skills; Scrooge wins if he kills Santa. We also added a wincon to Mrs. Claus.
There were people trying to figure how many slots out of 19 there were and someone settled on 11. At the time it was 13 lol
Prancer was originally a single role, but Mjt asked for another town investigator to replace a Caroler so I gave him a twin named Recnarp.

Registration fills up the same day I post the forum. So, let's get to assigning roles!
There are a few people whom I've not seen here, so I don't know their activity level. I'll probably just make those people Carolers. Or maybe that's a dumb idea? And of course I can't ask about it because then people will know who the Carolers are XD
Forsaken asked to be Mariah Carey and I think she'd do wonderfully, but it might be more fun to let the wheel decide the rest of the roles...I'll spin the wheel. Bermuda might be blogging this so I'll give him Santa. Bestor would've gotten the role, but he said he's new so I don't want to give him Santa (I promise I don't hate you) so he can be one of the Elves.
So...for Forsaken's spin I got this:

Maha was originally Blitzen, but I decided Mjt as Blitzen would be quite interesting so they swap and Maha becomes the Ghost of Christmas Past. Welp, now we've gotta send out the roles.
Bestor currently has chat off (chat not DMs) so that's a problem lol
4 minutes later, Cactus already has me questioning my hosting skills.

Yes. The answer is yes. Bestor said something in notes a few minutes later and I couldn't ask him to check DMs because Cactus would know it might be about mafia. You learn something new every day, I guess. Thankfully he responded to DMs soon after.
While all this is happening, Brady decides to investigate Sword. I'll probably just screenshot the list of player's night actions and put it at the end for each night.
So apparently Bestor couldn't be added because he's in Beta, so he left that and now the mafia GC is up and running!

Btw, "#ShootCactusGambit" is a reference to a mafia game where @alexjohnson77 got Vigilante and Cactus got some mafia role. Alex decided to use his Vigilante charge N1 and shot Cactus XD

Remember that Bestor chat incident? I just realized that a very dedicated Cactus could've chat requested everyone and found out who doesn't have chat on.

So, with the "Informed that target is Deflection", I realized that it says the Jingle Bell is GIVEN a target, not that they pick it. Welp, sorry Deflection. Or not-

I find it funny how Forsaken is heavily implying that she's Mariah Carey and yet is attempting to claim Mrs. Claus XD
Okay, now the game is finally running smoothly. And of course, now that I've said this, things will probably start going haywire lol
Lesson learned: Forsaken is an excellent mafia player. Not in the Eldest getting all the evils way, but in the blending in by being funny way. Or maybe she seems to be blending in because I'm the host.

I decide to not replace him unless the mafia team unanimously decides he should be replaced because he's been active so far and the reason for going inactive is an acceptable reason. Thank you for prioritizing health over a game of mafia!

Deflection is now suggesting to remove a Mariah Carey charge...She just can't have enough drama, can she? I DM Forsaken and will just announce this at Day's end so as not to disrupt the discussion further.

Also I'm starting to root for Santa's Minions. IDK why. Maybe it's because they get a group chat and it's the more laid-back type of group chat so whenever someone gets sussed on we can go "Oh no!" together.

I notice that @preronc, @MonszyL, @MelainaCosmic1697, and @VoidOfCrystal have not contributed to the discussion. I DM all four backups (@ShunsuiClaw, @Agentnoggin, @Forsaken, and @FreeFriendlyDove).
Shunsui replies first and replaces Pre.
Chill immediately votes to skip, saying he's been out all day.
I go offline and come back to Deflection turning on Bermuda. Turns out, in mafia GC they planned this.
And now, for the lead up to the argument:
After this Shunsui changes his vote to Brady and Deflection claims Shunsui is sus.
So Bermuda is probably blogging this. Which means that I'll get to see his POV. Excellent.
Deflection and Bermuda should win an award for that acting XD
Oh yeah, and we've got another backup coming in!
I was going to let Dove be told by the others but then I remembered that with Rudolph, my entire job as the host is making sure the mayor isn't impersonated-
We've got two more inactives to replace (Agentnoggin and Forsaken the Second have yet to reply). Maha might be getting replaced. You might have noticed some similarities. My plan, if the two remaining backups accept, is to call @Agentnoggin "Agent" (I even prepared for this by calling the actively playing Agent "Agent R") and @Forsaken will just be "Forsaken 2". Still confusing? Welp, guess you just gotta read.
After this, Daylight and Forsaken proceed to argue over who is Mrs. Claus. I have no idea if claiming Mrs. Claus is a good idea (seeing as now Santa's Minions know not to go after you), but it's funny.
There is also chaos in mafia GC. I'd go after Bestor but there was a mafia game where something of similar nature (or at least it sounds like it's of similar nature) happened with me so...oh well? IDEK know what he posted so I can't force him to reiterate it.

Agent R decides to be unhelpful when asked who he wants to investigate, first with "I would investigate the issues and laws of society in case anyone breaks it" and then saying he'd like to investigate Marie, despite there being no Marie in this game.
This is an odd game. Oh right, Mariah Carey exists.

Maybe Bermuda getting lynched caused this. The background was just so excited that it changed. Or lynching the evil santa broke some sort of spell and allowed the background to be a winter-themed one.

I then threaten to modkill everyone who does not vote, even if no one votes, resulting in everyone dying. Which means either the game continues or everyone dies to an erupting volcano or something.
I ended up just changing my mind.
I'm considering just modkilling everyone who didn't vote anyway. At the time of writing this sentence, I have gotten a comment notification for the forum. If it is Forsaken calling me a coward for not going through with my threat, I'll modkill everyone who didn't vote.
