Korchnoi rook endings - part 1

Before I started with the serie about rook endings from Akiba Rubinstein, I had in mind to also write something about the rook endings of Korchnoi, and Lasker.

But after finishing the serie about Rubinstein rooks, I hesitated.

Some of the rook endings from Rubinstein were already not so easy to grasp, and several of the rook endings by Korchnoi turned out to be even more complex.

For example the quite famous rook ending from the Karpov-Korchnoi match, a great masterpiece by Korchnoi is a rook ending labyrinth of high level chess.

Now that Viktor Korchnoi has left the material world, I think I should still at least show a few of the rook endings from Korchnoi, even without very much annotations.

Here is fine draw in a rook ending from the old Korchnoi against the young GM Nils Grandelius, played in 2011.
