GCD Tournament Recap - Part 4/5

We're doing a 90+30 tournament at general chess discussion. It's a round robin tournament with 5 rounds. This is the 4th part of the series where we cover the next 3 games played

Game 10:

Mac Vs Magician 

Magician has been dominating the tournament so far and looks the clear favourite to win it all. Meanwhile Mac comes into the game with just the 1 loss and is proving very difficult to beat

Macs attack looked scary but failed in the end due to some very nice defensive play by magician. Magician now goes 2.5/3 and looks a cut above the rest of the field

Game 11:

Bozo Vs Smelly

Smelly aims to continue her Cinderella run this tournament against Bozo, who sits at 2200 rapid but with no OTB experience. Sidenote but both their usernames insult themselves which I thought was pretty funny.

And Smelly against all odds goes 3.5/4 tearing up the competition. It's all setting up perfectly for the final showdown between magician and smelly now

Game 12:

Magician Vs Bozo

Funnily enough, Magician is at risk of being out of contention to win the tournament if he loses this game! He needs a draw or a win to set up the final showdown with Smelly. Meanwhile Bozo is just battling Mac and Lightning to try and not finish last

A draw is enough to set up the final game between smelly and magician. Magician sits half a point behind but will surely be favourite against the 1700. Bozo gets another big draw against all odds and doing quite well now in the tournament.
